Well I'll have a bit of humble pie as well tonight after THAT performance over in Greece tonight.
Mind you I do think we'll smash them at the London Stadium as I don't think Moyes will play the B team next time... I mean Ings??? FFS

People often forget how much luck determines outcomes. I'm not sure of how managers and players harness luck in Football but losing players to injury or poor form or outside influences would be one area of seeking to avoid the worst. Losing two or three of your best players will have a huge impact. I think Europe will hamper them this year but in the end they will be stronger, as I believe we are.

Good luck to the Newcastle fans they’re no better, or worse, than us lot.

The only downside, for me, would be supporting a team that is reliant on Arab money.

Their support last night kept singing "Geordies" over and over that was it ..oh and got out sung by the opposition. But still the media love em ..glad they lost.Petrol bomb throwning tossers, Sunderland far better.

I'm still sniggering at the fact that Man City played Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium last night.....

Had the pleasure of bumping into some georgies in the passport queue in Tenerife this year.

Loud and obnoxious as they bowled in, one of them suggested they quiet down a bit and another replied "I'm from Newcastle, I don't give a fook"

Says it all really.

A young, attacking side, playing champions league football, yeah, humble pie.

And apparently one of their fans thought it was the away leg and went abroad !

Scott d yes I agree. Fair few toon fans living in my locality as you can.imagine. They'll be unbearable with that kind of success.

Newcastle, with their money will become a huge club over the next decade, so the slower that happens the better.

Exactly.
The more teams that break into that top 4-6 the less chance we have of any future success.
Hope they fail miserably.

It becomes a free for all in the last 8 but think we can draw a Scottish team in the last 16.

Watched the first half
Very entertaining game with Dortmund the better so not undeserved.
Good to see Bilic's CURLY HAIRED assistant Edin Terzic doing well as manager there

Newcastle still in a decent position and to be honest if we were in the Champions league i'd love to be playing teams like PSG Dortmund & AC Milan instead of some Conference league level no marks
A trip to the Dortmund stadium would be amazing.
Who knows , if PSG & Newcastle qualify we may see them drop down to us

Re: Geordies...nice bit of humble pie tonight
Decent team from that group will drop into the europa, and probably one of Lazio or athletico Madrid.

How far does the competition go before we could draw an English or Scottish team?
Could we draw Newcastle when they drop out of the CL?

But a bit weird getting upset about fans celebrating being 'back in the big time'. I can't imagine how unbearable i'd be if we found ourselves playing Champions League football.

et them enjoy it before they become really unbearable

Re: Geordies...nice bit of humble pie tonight
Big boys shit the CL, although they were unlucky at the death hitting the woodwork twice. A good side will finish third in that group and drop down into our comp.

I just think it gets harder for them.

I’d love that humble pie playing good football in the Champions League win or lose rather than watching the depressing dross served with Moyesball.

Re: Geordies...nice bit of humble pie tonight
I thought it was a bit early to start celebrating, especially with ac milan as the fourth team. it would be funny if they even missed out on the europa after that psg result
